How to add the iBoard Khmer keyboard on iPhone
To add iBoard on iPhone, install and open the app, then go to Settings, General, Keyboard and Keyboards to add iBoard. Switch to it with the globe key in a text field. The released setup instructions require Allow Full Access for word suggestions; review that permission separately from adding the keyboard.

Separate installation from keyboard activation
Installing a keyboard app does not by itself make that keyboard the active input method in another app. There are three distinct steps: having iBoard installed, adding its keyboard in iPhone Settings, and choosing it in the text field where you want to type.
Open iBoard first and read its current setup guide. This helps you identify the keyboard entry you are adding. Keep another keyboard available while setting things up so you can switch back when entering text that uses a different layout.
Add iBoard in iPhone Settings
Apple’s keyboard guide describes adding keyboards through General and Keyboard in Settings. Open Keyboards, choose Add New Keyboard and select iBoard from the available choices. iBoard’s setup instructions use that system-registration route.
Return to a normal text field and use the globe control to switch input methods. If several keyboards are enabled, touch and hold the switching control and choose the one you want. Seeing the iBoard app icon on the Home Screen is not the same as seeing its keyboard in the text field.
- Install iBoard and open its setup guide.
- Open Settings, then General, Keyboard and Keyboards.
- Use Add New Keyboard to add iBoard.
- In a text field, switch to iBoard with the globe control.
Understand the suggestion permission
Word suggestions require Allow Full Access according to iBoard’s current setup instructions. Treat this as a separate keyboard permission decision. Read the system prompt and the app’s current privacy information before enabling it, rather than assuming that adding a keyboard automatically grants that access.
iBoard documents suggestions that adapt to selected words, predicted next words and personal vocabulary. Those features do not guarantee a correct word for every context. Read your message before sending it, especially when a suggestion changes a name or a less common word.
Check setup with ordinary text
Try a short, non-sensitive draft in an app where you normally type. Confirm that the intended keyboard is visible, the layout is usable and you can switch back to another keyboard. Keyboard behavior can vary between apps and input fields, so check the place where you actually plan to type.
If iBoard does not appear, check its entry in your keyboard list and try switching again in a normal text field. Avoid enabling unrelated permissions or removing working keyboards merely to troubleshoot. Theme choices are separate from setup, and some themes require an in-app purchase.
